McLean, VA - Today, I had lunch at Coastal Flats in Tyson's Corner Galleria 1 with a close friend. This is one of my favorite chain restaurants that is a part of the Great American Restaurants group. The restaurant is decorated with metal fish sculptures, colorful lamps, and fruit chandeliers. For drinks, I love their version of an Arnold Palmer because it has a good combination of iced tea and lemonade, making it sweet and refreshing but not tart. For breads, I highly recommend you to get a basket full of Ozzie rolls, fried ball of sweet dough resembling doughnut holes. It is served with whipped butter and poppy seeds. My favorite dish is the Pecan Crusted Trout, which consisted of a pan seared, pecan crusted trout cut into half and served one on top of each other, drizzled with a homemade chardonnay citrus sauce, and topped with spiced pecans (baked in cinnamon sugar and cayenne pepper). At the Mclean, VA location, it comes with coucous with almonds, spring onions, raisins, tomatoes, and radish. At the Gaithersburg, MD location, it comes with cauliflower mash.
